Robert Wilson, Executive Director
Robert founded Bridge Haven in 2006 recognizing the community need for an alternative family-style assisted living option in Lawrence, Kansas. He is an active member of the Lawrence Area Partner in Aging network and he is an advocate for raising standards of care for Lawrence seniors.

Sarah Randolph, Associate Director
Sarah has worked in senior services for more than eight years. Highlights include beginning the first SkillBuilders support program for widows, widowers and caregivers and implementing a Dementia Care Pathway in her previous organization. A native of Lawrence, Kansas, Sarah lives with her husband, Mike, and her two teenage daughters, Olivia and Julia. In her free time, Sarah enjoys reading, baking and spending time at Lone Star Lake. I have seen firsthand the sincere kindness and loving care our staff provides each resident. The unique individual within is not forgotten.

Linda Kizer, Registered Nurse (Certified in Geriatrics)
Linda keeps Bridge Haven running smoothly. She efficiently supervises the residents care, admissions, medications, and health assessments, as well as the overall cleaning, supplies, menus and groceries. Linda enjoys the lunch hour, when everyone is sitting around the table and sharing stories.

Kristin Scheurer, Master of Business Administration and Director of Marketing
With more than ten years of experience in sales and marketing, Kristin is responsible for developing and implementing Bridge Haven’s strategic marketing plan and brand identity. Dedicated to building meaningful connections among residents, families, friends and the community, Kristin’s goal is to create an assisted living environment where people feel at home among family.
“Knowing that families have busy lives, and recognizing that they can’t always be at Bridge Haven as often as they’d like to be, one of my greatest joys is taking pictures of resident interactions and sharing the special moments with their loved ones.”

Shawn Edwards, IT Operations Manager
Shawn’s talents as Information Technology Operations Manager stems from more than 12 years of proven experience. Shawn is responsible for network security, procurement, installation, and life-cycle maintenance of IT hardware, software and voice/data network solutions. A native of Lawrence, Kansas, Shawn has a 6-year-old son, who loves to compete in martial arts tournaments with his dad.

Dana, Certified Medication Aide and Certified Home Health Aide
Dana has called Lawrence, Kansas her home since birth. Committed to her community and the seniors who live here, she prides herself on solid experience providing continuous compassionate care for the special people who live at Care Cottage.
“One of my favorite things is chatting with residents, and listening to them tell me their life stories.”

Beth, Certified Medication Aide
Beth’s father was a doctor, and she has more than 20 years of healthcare experience. She prides herself in providing compassionate, individualized care. Beth is ever vigilant, keeping a watchful eye on all the residents.
“I like the parties we have in the spring and around Thanksgiving, but being able to spend time with the residents and talk with them every day is truly special especially at bedtime.”

Gilda, Certified Medication Aide, Cook
Gilda brings more than 30-years of proven international experience caring for people of all ages. In 1985, Gilda was recruited by the Saudi Arabia government to work at a military hospital where she cared for patients of all ages. While living there she learned to speak conversational Arabic and gained nearly 10-years of hands-on caregiving experience. Although now working in the United States, she grew up in the Philippines where her extended family still resides. She enjoys cooking international meal favorites.“One of the most enjoyable parts of my job is sharing a friendly wave for the residents walking around the backyard wandering path, while I’m cooking in the kitchen. It just feels so much like home.”

Shawnte’, Certified Medication Aide, Certified Nurse Aide
Shawnte’ brings to Bridge Haven solid professional experience in caring for others. Shawnte’ earned her CMA/CNA training at Neosho Community College in 2009. In her spare time, she loves to read, study languages including Spanish and Korean and cook. Wise beyond her years, Shawnte’ brings a strength and calm disposition to her days at Bridge Haven.“What I like best about working at Bridge Haven are the wonderful residents!”

Michele, Certified Medication Aide, Certified Nurse Aide
Always singing and smiling, Michele began with Bridge Haven recently but seems to already be a fixture. When Michele speaks, a faint Minnesota accent is detectable. She has two children, ages 19 and 21, attending college. Michele will start nursing school in 2013 and may continue on to medical school. In her spare time, she practices tai chi and kung fu and works on her house and garden. About the residents, Michele says,“I couldn’t pick better friends, if I looked a hundred years!”
